Every since I came back from my short trip to Bandung Indonesia, I've been on a quest to find a restaurant which serves a a dish which i discovered and enjoyed eating in Bandung, Iga Bakar. Iga Bakar simply means grilled ribs. A scan around lucky plaza where Indonesians and Filipinos usually meet up reveals a few Indonesian restaurants selling Iga Bakar. Me and my friend decided to dine in at Resto Surabaya after Friday prayer at the Al-Falah mosque nearby.
Restaurant Resto Surabaya
The restaurant is clean and well kept and at the time we entered (right about after lunch time), seats were only half filled.
Cosy dining place!
Menu
We were served right away and the menu actually got me fickle minded! I knew I wanted to have the Iga Bakar but the Ayam bakar seems very tempting! I finally ordered for myself the Iga Bakar while my friend ordered Bawal Bakar.

Es Soda Gembira
This is the drink I ordered, Es Soda Gembira. Its like 'air bandung' but gassy because it is cherry ade with sweetened condense milk. My friend ordered teh sosro (Boringgggg......................)

Bawal Bakar served with rice
After 15 minutes, our food arrived! Bawal bakar- 2 pieces of pomfret fish, grilled and served with fried tofu and chili soya black sauce. Looks good but not as good as my Iga Bakar. Iga Bakar - 3 (big pieces!) of grilled ribs...awww favourite!!! Both dishes were served with rice.
Iga Bakar served with rice
I asked for a bottle of sweet sauce from the waitress and poured it over my ribs... just the way i like them. Soft on the inside but crunchy on the outside...... great!
Bill! S$25.70
The bill came up to S$25.70. Well it would have cost a quarter of that if it was in Bandung, but this is Singapore. I'd definitely come back for the Iga Bakar... or maybe Ayam Bakar....!
